Window frame depth requirement:

Outside Mount
You can choose outside mount for better shading effect. Shades are installed over the window on brackets attached to the wall or window frame. We recommend adding a minimum of 4-6 inches to your width and 10-12 inches above the window frame for height measurements to allow for light gap coverage.
